First, note that even though it says that the Aqara hub is required, the switch does work with a HomeSeer system. I use this in my family room to control the lights. The room has 4 lights so when I press the button once it turns on all the lights. When I press it twice it turns them off and if I press and hold it dims them to 25%. With HomeSeer this was easy to set up as it can detect the different button presses. With HomeSeer make sure you install the free Zigbee Plus plugin as that is the plugin that supports this device. HomeSeer reports the battery level and after a month it still reports 100% so I cannot attest to how long the battery will last.

This button works very well with Home Assistant and zigbee2mqtt. I don't have the hub so I can't speak to how easy it is to use with that. I have been using it for 5 months so far and the battery hasn't needed to be replaced yet.

Perfect fit for a smart home

Very easy to set up in the Aqara app and create automations. If you go this route, you can ONLY add and control other Aqara devices. If you have an Aqara Matter hub, like the M3, you can also add and control non-Aqara Matter devices.But there is a workaround. Adding it to Home Assistant with the Zigbee2MQTT integration makes it much more powerful and useful. (DOH, the Zigbee!) When you do so, all the button entities (push, double push, hold, release) are exposed to Home Assistant. You can control ALL Home Assistant devices and automations with it then. I don't know why they don't advertise this. (OK, they want to sell hubs so there's that.)Very cool little gizmo. For example, I've set one up for my wife with a "going to bed" automation, so that a single push turns off all downstairs lights, sets two LED strips to 10% as nightlights, and turns on the hall light so she can head upstairs to bed without being in the dark. (A double push turns ON all downstairs and outside lights. In case the hears a noise or something.) I love these things. I have 5 of them. And I have the Cube too, I just can't find a use for it. But it was $23 so I had to have one. LOL. Integrates into HA exactly the same as the button.If you have other Aqara devices, you'll love this thing. If you run HA you'll REALLY love this thing.

This is Amazing little Zigbee button that was very easy to integrate with Home Assistant/Zigbee2MQTT and even easier to use!I'm using mine with Home Assistant to turn on/off (toggle) lights in one area with a single click, and on/off (toggle) in another nearby area with a double-click.Wife acceptance Factor is huge on this one. I will definitely be purchasing more of these!

Aqara products all work well in my experience. I wouldn't use them ina commercial application but for my home automation and for fun little things these are perfect.

I added it to the aquara app (I had an aqara m2 hub and other aqara accessories already in my house) and it appeared automatically on the apple Home App (just needed to look for it in all the different rooms in the Home app until I saw it). Once I found it in the Home App the configuration of the presses was effortless and it worked instantly.
