Aqara Vibration Sensor

I love these little sensors!Aqara makes awesome sensors but I owe my sanity to this little guy.I have this and all my aqara sensors connected through a zigbee conbee USB adapter to my Home Assistant server running on an Rpi 3. It has been connected for 2 years on a single battery.My goal for this sensor was to count the amount of time my cats self scooping litter box cycles and trigger a notification after so many scoops. Installation was as easy as using the included sticky pad and it hasn't ever fallen off. I trigger my automation off of the "tilt" entity and it hasn't failed me yet.I can't recommend these sensor enough for anyone looking for seemless home automation integration.

Brought the Aqara vibration sensor along with an E1 hub and was able to get notifications on dryer cycle completion seamlessly! Had gone through multiple forums which talked about IFTTT automations, coding etc… but the capability is within the Aqara App itself. Just set the automation inside the Aqara app to send notification with a 5 minute delay. Vibration is measured by the sensor every minute. Once the dryer starts, the automation notification will be sent out 5 mins after the last vibration is detected! See attached picture. Note, You might get another notification when removing clothes from the dryer of course :)Easy way to convert your standard washing machine/dryer to a smart one. Got the sensor and hub for $35 during prime day sale.Update: A 10 min delay ( instead of 5 mins) to automation worked better!

This unit paired perfectly with Home Assistant thru a Sonoff Zigbee co-ordinator

I bought this product to detect when I hit my center console and then run an automation. The vibration sensor in the device works well (my table is about 1/2 an inch thick). No connection issues, my 2nd aqara device through Zigbee. All you do is click the button while searching for Zigbee devices and it pops up almost instantly just like any other Zigbee device.Do note that the vibration is detected like a motion sensor. In HA it has an IAS zone just like the SmartThings motion sensor and stays on for a few seconds making it so you can only use the vibration every half a minute or so.

This works nice with Home Assistant Snoff Zigbee Dongle. The only thing its missing is the back of the sensor be magnet so I can install this without the two side it tape. Other then that it work better then other sensor I purchased. I hope the battery last longer than other sensors.

If you want to adjust sensitivity you need the Aqara app and a hub - apart from that, it works well. You have to play with placement and tweak settings a bit for your use case. I have this on my dryer to notify me when it has finished.

Having a hub is a must in order for this to work accordingly.I attached this vibration sensor to a set of buttons that our dog uses when he is hungry, wants to play or needs to go potty.I attached it with Velcro to the potty button so everyone at home can get notification on our mobile phones.It works well. Once in a while there are false notifications, but it is rare.

I put in my mailbox to detect door opening/closing. I do get some false positives. When opening the mailbox at night, I it turns on the porch light for one minute . This allows me to easily open my door with my key.
